NREF Success Story: Mr. Oliver Tang

An award from the NREF can have an extraordinary impact on a medical career. The recognition that comes from an NREF award can serve as a springboard for future opportunities, and affecting the overall trajectory of a neurosurgical career.

Oliver Tang, Brown University, Medical Student Class of 2023, was a 2020 recipient of the NREF Medical Student Summer Research Fellowship.

The work supported by the grant was published in Frontiers in Immunology: PD1 Expression in EGFRvIII-Directed CAR T Cell Infusion Product for Glioblastoma Is Associated with Clinical Response.

He shared the news with NREF to express his gratitude for the generous support of that made this work possible and to show donors the fruit of the work that they supported.

We celebrate Mr. Tang and all NREF award recipients making a difference in the field of neurosurgery.
